Internship with Political Strategies and Insights (PSI) – Government Affairs
Qualifications:
PSI is seeking an individual who is disciplined, innovative, energetic, hard-working, and proactive. We require that the Government Affairs candidate be a Junior or Graduating Senior with a Political Science Major. The candidate also must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. PSI also requires that the candidate have the ability to interact effectively with senior corporate executives, White House Officials, Members of Congress, elected officials, and community leaders. Writing under strict deadlines and proficiency in MS Office is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Research Federal, State and Local Legislation to support lobbying operation.
Attend Congressional Meetings and Hearings.
Utilize software applications to produce or assist in the production and distribution of a variety of documents, reports, presentations and special projects.
Provide general administrative support for the President and CEO, including:
Answering the phone lines, maintaining and modifying daily Government Affairs calendar, processing expense reports to submit to clients, etc.
Arrange travel, present options and confirm arrangements.
Distribute mail and faxes.
Maintain Government Affairs filing system
Perform computer functions including data entry, and producing, retrieving and editing documents.
Maintain Current Government Affairs’ Communication lists and prepare information packets.
Utilize the Internet and other printed sources for reports and studies. Make calls to acquire information, data, etc., as requested.
