Monday, August 17th, 2009

George Washington University, Washington, DC- The GW College Republicans released the following statement:

Bob McDonnell, the Republican candidate for governor of Virginia, will be speaking to students and faculty at the G.W. College Republicans Fall Semester Kick-Off on September 2nd, 2009 in the Marvin Center Grand Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

Virginia’s gubernatorial election this November is one of the closest-watched races this season, and the College Republicans are honored to have McDonnell, a long champion of conservative values, come to campus to speak to students about his campaign and the Republican Party’s approach to solving the critical issues facing our nation.

McDonnell’s increasing momentum in the state of Virginia is reminding the nation that conservative values are still thriving and popular in the Old Dominion, despite the state’s recent blue trends. The G.W. College Republicans are planning several volunteer campaign trips for the McDonnell for Virginia campaign throughout the Fall, and are excited for the opportunity to meet and talk with the candidate.

Further, by bringing Bob McDonnell to campus, the College Republicans are proud to be furthering George Washington University’s reputation as the most politically active and astute university in the nation.
