Fall 2009 Internship with Military Families United
Here’s their info:
Military Families United serves as the nation’s premier military family advocacy organization, representing the Gold and Blue Star families throughout the country and their loved ones who wear, or have worn, our nation’s uniform. Military Families United was founded in the summer of 2008 as a not-for-profit, non-partisan 501c4 organization committed to supporting America’s military families. MFU fights to ensure that the sacrifices of these families are not in vain by giving them a voice in Washington, D.C and state governments throughout the country.
The MFU mission is simple: To represent and support the families of the courageous men and women in uniform who keep America safe and secure. We work on behalf of the thousands of military families across the country to ensure their voice is heard on Capitol Hill, in the media, and throughout the world, showing their support for our troops.
MFU interns are provided with a unique opportunity to gain experience in communications, government relations, new media, and operations as they work side by side with our staff on military and military family issues. MFU interns will gain a solid understanding of the issues facing our brave men and women in uniform and the families that support them.
Qualifications: MFU seeks both current undergraduate and graduate students from all majors with an interest in military related issues and policy. Interns will work on operations, communications, government relations, and new media projects. This is an unpaid internship.
