Representing and promoting the conservative message at GW

Aventum, LLC

Aventum, LLC is a political fundraising, consulting and events firm that specializes in creating tailored fundraising and events strategies for Members of Congress, Companies & Associations with roots in Washington, DC, as well as National Charitable Organizations.

We are looking for a Special Events/Fundraising Intern to join our small, but strong team for the Spring 2009 Semester (and hopefully for Summer 2009 – though not required). We are specifically looking for a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year student, although a Freshman would not be unwelcome if they are qualified.

Intern duties will include:
~ Assisting the Director of Special Events with all event logistics for all client events (approx. 2-3 events per week when Congress is in Session); This also includes possibly attending the events (depending on the intern’s class schedule) to help with registration as well as other day-of-event logistics
~ Helping to formulate fundraising strategies for existing, new or potential clients
~ Writing and creating thank you letters for all fundraising events
~ Updating our clients’ contact database (ongoing project)
~ Assisting with the day-to-day tasks of the office

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
~ Extreme attention to detail
~ Excellent oral and written communication skills
~ Ability to think outside the box
~ Willingness to contribute to a small company
~ Interest in politics is not required, but we have several Congressional clients, so the chosen candidate will be given a lot of exposure to Capitol Hill

This internship is a non-paid, internship. It is our hope to have the intern come into our office between 10-15 hours a week.

To apply, please send your resume, cover letter, and a two page writing sample to Natalie Lyons, Director of Special Events, at Natalie@aventumllc.com. No phone calls please.

If we are interested in meeting with you, we will contact you to set up an interview.
