Phone Bank from Home!!

As many GW Republicans are spending their Thanksgiving holiday helping make sure Georgia stays red, we want to give everyone that is at home an opportunity to join in the fight by holding an online phonebanking contest. It’s easy to participate, and you can do it from anywhere!

Here’s how:

Step 1. Log on to http://www.gop.com/phonebank

Step 2. After being redirected, create a MyGOP account.

Step 3. After creating your account, you will be redirected to the online phone bank, and instructions on how to use it.

When you are finished making calls, keep track of how many you made and email your total to james@gwrepublicans.org. The person with the most calls by next Tuesday will receive a $25 iTunes gift card compliments of the GW College Republicans!

The New Atlantis

The New Atlantis (Ethics and Public Policy Center)
The November 2008 elections mark the beginning of a new era for American conservatism — an era in which conservatives must act as the loyal opposition. During this time in the opposition, think tanks will play an unusually important role — serving as incubators for creative policy ideas and as home to a sort of government-in-waiting. One of the nation’s premier conservative think tanks, the Ethics and Public Policy Center, is looking for interns for the spring 2009 semester to work on various policy projects, including especially The New Atlantis, the leading journal about the social and political implications of modern science and technology. Any conservatives students interested in seeing the workings of political think tanks up close, excited at the prospect of helping to define the future of conservatism, and willing to work hard to ensure that conservatives’ time in opposition is as effective (and short!) as possible should consider interning for us in the spring semester. To learn more about the kinds of internships available, please write to Adam Keiper at akeiper@thenewatlantis.com.

Military Families United

Spring & Summer 2009 Internships

Military Families United serves as the nation’s premier military family advocacy organization, representing the Gold and Blue Star families throughout the country and their loved ones who wear, or have worn, our nation’s uniform. Military Families United was founded in the summer of 2008 as a not-for-profit, non-partisan 501c4 organization committed to supporting America’s military families. We fight to ensure that the sacrifices of these families are not in vain by giving them a voice in Washington, D.C and state governments throughout the country. Our mission is simple: To represent and support the families of the courageous men and women in uniform who keep America safe and secure. We work on behalf of the thousands of military families across the country to ensure their voice is heard on Capitol Hill, in the media, and throughout the world, showing their support for our troops.
MFU interns are provided with a unique opportunity to gain experience in communications, government relations, new media, and operations as they work side by side with our staff on military and military family issues. MFU interns will gain a solid understanding of the issues facing our brave men and women in uniform and the families that support them. Qualifications: MFU seeks both current undergraduate and graduate students from all majors with an interest in military related issues and policy. Interns will work on operations, communications, government relations, and new media projects. Location: MFU is located near the Farragut North and Farragut West metro stops. To apply please send a cover letter, resume, short writing sample and 2-3 references to:

Georgia Senate Runoff Volunteer Trip

11.28 - 12.3 Atlanta, Georgia

Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss is in a runoff election against his Democratic opponent for the Georgia Senate Seat, and the RNC is sending young college republicans to campaign! The possibility of the Democrats getting to sixty senate seats becomes eliminated if they lose this seat, so the Republican Party is focusing all of its efforts on keeping it red.

All expenses are paid, including travel, housing, and food. If people need to change their flight plans to return early from break, we are willing to help cover the costs. We will fly out late Friday night from DC and return early Wednesday morning. Please contact Jake Wolf as soon as possible via email at wolf51@gwmail.gwu.edu or via phone at 315 532 3777.

You can also join the Facebook group.
